FASHION DESIGN AND TECHNOLOGY MANAGEMENT
Do not follow what has already been done – create what is yet to come.
The Fashion Design and Technology Management program is designed for those who wish to combine artistic passion with technological knowledge to consciously shape the fashion of the future.
Here, your ideas take tangible form — from the first sketch to the finished collection. You will learn to think like a designer, analyze the market like a strategist, and experiment like an innovator. Our technological laboratories and design studios will become your creative atelier, while courses conducted by industry professionals will help you translate your creative vision into professional solutions.
At VIAMODA, we teach not only fashion design — we teach how to design emotions, style, and meaning. Every project tells a story that you express through your own language of form, color, and texture. Develop your ideas, experiment, and explore. Become a creator of trends, not just their observer. Look to the future and build your own brand — from the first concept to your own fashion show.

PROGRAM
The Fashion Design and Technology Management program has been developed to support the comprehensive development of students’ artistic, technological, and business competences. It combines creative approaches with practical knowledge, providing thorough preparation for careers in the fashion industry and other creative sectors.
The main goal of the program is to develop individual artistic abilities, aesthetic awareness, and the skills necessary to create fashion collections that reflect current market needs. Students learn to design in accordance with a brand’s DNA, analyze trends and design briefs, and respond effectively to client expectations.
Classes are conducted in workshop and project-based formats, enabling participants to experiment with form, material, and technology. Students refine their ability to connect artistic concepts with functionality, ergonomics, and the principles of sustainable design.
Throughout the seven semesters of study, students will:
• understand the process of developing a fashion collection from concept to final product,
• develop their individual design style,
• learn the principles of building coherent collections and brand visual identities,
• acquire knowledge of garment construction, materials science, production methods, and new technologies,
• create original projects and graduation collections that serve as their professional portfolio.
The educational process maintains a balance between theory and practice. Theoretical knowledge gained in lectures finds direct application in projects realized in VIAMODA’s studios — from drawing and composition to technological and construction laboratories. Thanks to this structure, graduates leave the university not only with a diploma, but also with a comprehensive portfolio and practical experience essential for launching their professional careers.

STUDY FORMAT
Courses in the Fashion Design and Technology Management specialization are conducted in a hybrid format, combining the advantages of on-campus learning and online education. This model ensures maximum flexibility, enabling students to acquire theoretical knowledge remotely while participating in practical sessions conducted in the university’s professional studios.
Design, construction, and laboratory classes take place at the VIAMODA campus, while theoretical classes are delivered online through the Microsoft Teams platform. This approach allows students to effectively balance their studies with professional commitments, developing their skills at an individual pace.
The hybrid format is tailored for individuals who:
• live far from Warsaw or abroad,
• have time constraints or professional obligations,
• value flexibility and autonomy in learning.
This model saves time and travel expenses while maintaining constant access to faculty members and opportunities for hands-on work in VIAMODA’s professional laboratories.
Students also benefit from access to the Creative Industries Library, guest lectures, and exclusive educational materials developed by VIAMODA’s academic staff.

ERASMUS+ PROGRAM
ERASMUS+ AT VIAMODA — BENEFITS OF MOBILITY
The Erasmus+ program is one of the priority opportunities VIAMODA offers to students, faculty, and staff. It allows you to gain international experience, broaden your horizons, and enhance your skills. Key benefits and opportunities include:
• Study Abroad – the opportunity to spend part of your studies at a partner university abroad. Courses and ECTS credits are recognized under Erasmus+, allowing uninterrupted continuation of your studies.
• Internships Abroad – during summer or the academic year, you can complete internships at companies, studios, or creative organizations outside Poland. This is an excellent chance to gain work experience abroad and establish international contacts.
• Financial Support – Erasmus+ provides financial assistance for students:
o scholarships to help cover living costs abroad; the amount depends on the host country (higher cost countries → higher rates),
o scholarships for internships are generally slightly higher than for study mobility,
o grants are paid in installments – part before departure and part after returning and completing formalities.
• Partner Universities and Diverse Destinations – the opportunity to choose a partner university or institution across Europe for study or internship. VIAMODA has bilateral agreements with many institutions, e.g., ESADA in Granada, The Swedish School of Textiles (Sweden), NCAD (Dublin), Óbuda University (Budapest), Vilnius Color Design College (Lithuania), and more.
• Language and Cultural Development – living abroad allows you to improve English (or another language if it is the medium of instruction at the host institution), increase cultural awareness, and gain life experiences, enriching both your knowledge and CV. Past participants confirm how much can be learned—not only academically but personally.

Admission Requirements
Your journey into fashion begins right here.
Admission to VIAMODA is simple and open to everyone who dreams of creating, designing, and working in the world of fashion. We do not require a professional portfolio or specific high-school completion — what matters are your passions, ideas, and creativity.
As part of the admission process, applicants are asked to prepare a moodboard — an inspiration board that allows us to understand your way of thinking about fashion and design. It is your first artistic introduction! A moodboard may include collages, images, color samples, patterns, sketches, or any other elements that create a coherent visual story of your inspirations.
Applicants for the Fashion Design & Technology program (taught in English) prepare a moodboard inspired by the current collection of a selected international fashion brand. The work may be submitted in digital or physical form (scanned or photographed and uploaded online as a JPG or PNG file).
It is a simple and enjoyable way to showcase your creativity and take your first step toward a career in an industry where art meets technology.
